The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC) on May 13, 2026, issued the Draft Order on Generic Renewable Energy Tariffs for FY 2026-27.
The following has been stated:
• The order covers small hydro projects, non-fossil fuel-based cogeneration plants, solar PV projects (0.5 MW to 2 MW), and biogas-based power projects. Stakeholders have been invited to submit comments and suggestions by June 05, 2026.
• The Commission has determined levelised tariffs based on normative parameters such as capital cost, debt-equity ratio (70:30), loan tenure of 15 years, interest rate of 10.72%, return on equity, depreciation, working capital requirements, and operation & maintenance expenses.
• The proposed levelised tariffs are ₹7.68/kWh for small hydro projects below 5 MW, ₹7.87/kWh for small hydro projects of 5–10 MW, ₹7.47/kWh for small hydro projects of 10–25 MW, ₹8.18/kWh for mini/micro hydro projects up to 2 MW, ₹4.55/kWh (fixed charge) for non-fossil fuel-based co-generation projects, ₹3.40/kWh for solar PV projects of 0.5–2 MW, and ₹4.90/kWh (fixed charge) for biogas-based power projects. Variable energy charges have been proposed at ₹5.10/kWh for cogeneration projects and ₹6.21/kWh for biogas-based projects.
• These tariffs will apply to eligible renewable energy projects achieving commercial operation during FY 2026-27 and entering into long-term power purchase agreements with distribution licensees in the State.
